Mid-Century Modern Desk Lamp – One of a Kind Design

(0827) MID-CENTURY MODERN DESK LAMP – $950 NZD

This piece began with a 1950s GPO intercom office telephone. The Bakelite body was modified, sanded & polished. Then I added legs (from a vintage hotplate), a dimmable gooseneck lamp, a clock, a perpetual calendar and space for a smartphone. The inspiration for what it’s become is the office desk organisers of the mid-century modern era (sans the smartphone!).
