When I was a kid, there was a junkyard at the end of a dirt road in the forest near our house where people dumped old cars, appliances and other worn-out treasures. It was one of my favourite places, and I’d spend hours exploring and collecting bits and pieces to turn into kid masterpieces! Maybe that was the beginning of the passion? Certainly the challenge of seeing the potential in the “discarded” drives me to this day.

I’d like to think that I can save a few objects which otherwise would end up in a landfill and give them a new purpose – a second life. The creativity and challenge of turning something that might be rusty, worn out and no longer useful into something functional and beautiful.

I’ve always had a passion for industrial design, history, and all things unique and different. I’m a graphic designer by trade and for 15 years I co-owned a design company in the USA. After we sold the company we decided to move back to New Zealand and make this passion what I do full-time.

Am I a Designer? Artist? Artisan? Maker? Who knows.
I re-make things so let’s go with ‘Re-Maker’.
