Fire & Ice – One of a Kind Design

(0824) DRIFTER TWO: FIRE & ICE – $1850 NZD

Originally created for the Greytown Festival of Christmas, Fire & Ice combines driftwood (native NZ red beech) from Lake Ferry, a repurposed cast iron café table base; and, of course, some magical fire & ice.
Hundreds of clear acrylic cabochons form a bed of shimmering “ice”, while two flame-effect LED bulbs hidden beneath bring the piece to life with the illusion of fire glowing from within.
Part sculpture, part lighting, Fire & Ice is at its most dramatic as the surrounding light begins to fade. Positioned in an entranceway, foyer or generous living space, it creates its own sense of theatre—an unexpected focal point that transforms as daylight gives way to evening.
