(0858) ACHROMATIQUE – $950 NZD (SOLD)

This is my second piece exploring the absence of colour through light, shadow, and form. While inspired by my original Achromatic, this version features a French Pontiac folding camera, likely manufactured between 1946 and 1950. Featuring a lens by the renowned Paris optical firm Berthiot, it retains the industrial character and mechanical elegance that defined early photographic design.
Suspended within an illuminated circular form, the camera shifts beyond its original purpose and becomes almost sculptural in nature. LED lighting softly frames the piece, emphasising contrast, atmosphere, and the quiet drama found within black-and-white aesthetics.

DIMENSIONS: 62cm (H); 44cm (W)
