Achromatic – One of a Kind Design

Inspired by the theme of the upcoming Monochrome exhibition (June 26-July 25, Greytown Art Gallery), Achromatic explores the absence of colour through light, shadow, and form. At the centre of the piece is a Braun Norca camera, manufactured in Nürnberg, Germany in the early 1950s, retaining the industrial character and mechanical elegance of early photographic design.
Suspended within an illuminated circular form, the camera shifts beyond its original purpose and becomes almost sculptural in nature. LED lighting softly frames the piece, emphasising contrast, atmosphere, and the quiet drama found within black and white aesthetics.
