Paparanga (layer, level) is a collaboration between myself and Wairarapa artist Leanne Taylor (ennaelrolyat@gmail.com).
Leanne’s layered colours and shapes reflect memory, depth, and lived experience. “I’m creating layers on a skateboard which makes me think about those in my whānau who skate and surf. We lived on the Taranaki
coast in the 1970s, when local riders used the forecourt of the petrol station as their skatepark. The layers of memories and lived experience.”
The SkateLight comes ready to hang and includes a custom electrical cord, inline dimmer, and four vintage-style dimmable LED bulbs.
