This vintage 1960’s skateboard is awesome, from its clay wheels and spring tensioned trucks to the fact it was made in Aotearoa (New Zealand) by E&M. Because it’s a piece of NZ history we were very mindful to do a sympathetic repurpose, taking everything apart, cleaning all the parts but keeping much of the aged patina. We also gave the oak deck a fresh coat of clear to protect and accentuate the graphics. Since this board is now better suited for a wall display than riding, we added LED strip lighting on the underside. This was done very carefully without altering anything so it could be removed someday if someone wished. The colours and brightness of the LED lighting can be controlled by either the inline remote or by a smartphone App.
