(0789) DENTALAMP (SOLD)

Be glad it’s the 21st century and dental technology has moved beyond the ‘treadle drill’. The treadle drill was invented in 1871 by American dentist James Beall Morrison and was manufactured until 1940. This example of the first mechanically powered drill worked by manually pumping the foot pedal, which turned the flywheel, drove the drive belt, and in turn, powered the dental drill. Ouch! We like it as a lamp much better and it will make a real conversation piece in your home or office.
